Our tiny home

My big strong man and I have been married for 7 months, 1 week and 1 day.  We moved into our mini apartment just before the wedding, but really didn't start living here until a month after.  So since July we have been very slowly trying to make this the most livable little abode we can muster.  Our lease expires the last of April.  I'm really going to push to have it look and feel just right by then.  Maybe then it will be worth staying a little longer.  At the very least, we'll feel happy as long as we are here.

Here's a quick visual overview of how far (or not so far) we've gotten in making it just right.

Custom bookshelf made by a good friend.  Telescope was a Christmas gift from my mom.
What a mess.  Roadside find coffee table.  Our cat, Coltrane, spends part of the day in the giant cardboard box.
My "work station."  Unfortunately, it's really just a disheveled corner of our living room.
The bedroom.  I finished the large curtain today.  It blocks our ugly, drafty back door.  The curtain on the right is, sadly, a fleece blanket.
Now you can really tell that's a blanket.  This corner needs help.  The little 3-drawer dresser is really on its way out, I promise.  That garbage bag needs to find a clothes drop-off bin.  The instruments should be where we'll use them.
I have no excuse for this.  Piles of my half clean clothes.

Tomorrow I have 2 goals.
1.  Pick up the bedroom
2.  Finish the bedroom curtains
I'll be honest; if I start one or both of those I will be glad.  Maybe I'll even take a picture or 2 and get myself to post about it.

Good night from sleepy Coltrane.

Another year older, another year... what exactly?

In less than 2 weeks I will be 29.  It doesn't sound old to me.  I don't feel old.  But I feel very close to 30.  Still not old; but I'm anxious.

I've never been one to envision my future.  I didn't picture where I would be or what I would be doing when I turned 30.  Even being just one year away I still don't have a clear picture.  But I do know that when I turn 29 I will be living with my husband (just wed in June!) and our cat, Coltrane, in our small but comfortable apartment... and I will start blogging.  How often?  No way to know.  The content?  Not sure.  Why I think it's a good idea?  No idea.  I am not a writer.  I do not like spending a lot of time on my computer.  That is, unless I'm reading blogs.  Oh, there it is, the reason I'm giving blogging a try... blog addiction.

Now I have approximately 12 days to brainstorm some ideas for my blog.  I'm sure it will be a process and I won't share it with anyone for a while.  Except Coltrane.
